We all have favorite brands of clothes, favorite brands of food products, and the list goes on. I’m starting to learn My Farmer’s favorite brands and it all has to do with the brands he uses here on the farm. He has a favorite brand of feed suppliment, a favorite brand of field corn and soy bean seed, and yes his favorite brand of farm equipment.
Land O’ Lakes to most of us is butter, at least for me anyway, but for him it’s a feed suppliment that he adds to the grain. Land O’ Lakes as many divisions and My Farmer buys from the feed division products for farmers. The suppliment adds vitamins and minerals that’s grinded up with the field corn that we feed our cattle. The LOL suppliment helps make the meat of our cattle more flavorful and gives the cattle what they need to stay healthy.
LG to most of us is electronics & appliances, but for him it’s the field corn and soy bean seed he buys to grow here on the farm. LG Seeds is the company name, but I don’t think it’s a division of LG that I’m aware of. Speaking of seeds I just learned this year that the seeds are patented so we can’t hold back seeds that were grown from the plants we grew and replant them. That would be in violation of the patent. Interesting!
Just about everyone is familiar with John Deere farm equipment, but on this farm we use CaseIH (Case International Harvester). The red tractors, combines, and other equipment. We are a proud CaseIH farm family and wouldn’t have it any other way.
Believe it or not there’s even a brand when it comes to trailers. We have three trailers, each with a different purpose. A livestock trailer to transport our farm animals, a flatbed trailer to haul big equipment & large bales of hay, and finally the dump trailer for odd jobs and to haul our skidloader. The brand that fits our needs is CornPro.
When it comes to clothes his favorite brand is Carhart (overalls, coats, shirts, etc.), Dan Post boots, and Wrangler jeans. He’s driven all the American made trucks, but Ford by far is the best work truck hands down.
This would be for my friend Chuck! Word out on the street and here on the farm that small equipment with Honda motors is it. We have a small quad and it’s got a Honda motor, we have a generator and it has a Honda motor, and we also have a pressure washer that has a Honda motor. Thanks Chuck!
Just like anyone else that likes to promote their favorite brand by wearing it, so does My Farmer. He loves wearing hats with the brand names of the brands listed above whenever we can get our hands on one. That can be a challenge depending on the brand we’re looking for.
