A Matrimony to Remember

This has been a busy year for weddings for us, which has included 4 weddings within a years time.  All of them were beautiful and fun was had by all at the celebration after the ceremony.  I will say though the last wedding I attended has topped of any wedding I’ve been to, because it was a non-traditional wedding planned from the heart.

The Bride is the sister of a close friend of mine and I watched her grow up to be a beautiful woman.  She planned her intimate wedding at the Cincinnati Nature Center with close friends & family to witness the merging of their hearts.  Nature was the backdrop, simplicity was the theme, and genuine vowels from their hearts were the words we heard.

The evening was perfect in so many ways, but one.  Her Dad had passed away earlier in the year so he wasn’t there in body, but you saw him everywhere you turned and you felt his love.  He is her angel, and he was there.

I’m not going to share with you every detail of the wedding, but I will say the Bride planned it from her heart.  I left that night with a tear in my eye, a smile on my face, and a heart full of love.  It was nothing but an honor to be invited and I wish her and her new husband the very best.

What’s the most beautiful wedding you’ve been to?

Hey girly! Great post! I prefer simple, friendly weddings but my favorite (besides my own) would have to be my cousin’s. It was a simple ceremony with the exception of the bride’s dress which was beautifully detailed in ruffles and beads or sequins. The reception was over the top. It was a wedding out of the movies. The waiters and waitresses were white gloved as they served a five or six course meal including sherbet in between our soup & main course which cleansed our palettes (not what folks like us are accustom to receiving. Heck, our guests ate on fancy plastic.) The main dish was an entire chicken breast AND a steak! The cake was layered with regular cake, a raspberry fluff layer and cheese cake! Along side a scoop of ice cream and a chocolate shaped swan. At ten o’clock they brought out an after-hours snack buffet. With all of that, the best part of the event was that it was the last time we were all together before my step-dad passed away. Its bittersweet to look back through the pictures. It was just a perfect night. He was at our wedding some 12 or 13 years ago…hmmm, better get that figured out, huh? I’m thankful for that. Glad you had a great time!

What a beautiful wedding..I can see it through your words. We had a busy summer with weddings. Two nieces got married in July 2011. A summer filled with happy times!
