Movin’ On Up

I think we found our family sport!  We’ve tried t-ball for three years, my oldest plays soccer in the spring and fall, but the one sport all three enjoy is Tae Kwon Do.  Thankfully there’s a training hall within a reasonable distance with a family atmosphere we enjoy.

It’s been two years now since we became a part of the Tae Kwon Do family.  The boys started in “little dragons” and now attend the “lite TKD class.”  For a while I joined them and then decided to take a break for various reasons.

Last Friday the boys took their test to reach the next level.  They did a great job, despite some anxiety and nervousness and I was on edge through the whole test with them.  The results were amazing!  They each reached the next level!  My Farmer and I were so proud!  Our oldest achieved green tip status, our middle son earned his yellow belt, and our youngest now has a yellow tip on his white belt.  You could tell they were proud of themselves and we were proud of them!

I promised my youngest I’d join the class again if he got his yellow tip, because then we’d be at the same belt level.  He did it and now I have to uphold my end of the deal.  So it’s back to class I go to become a student just like them even though two of them out rank me now.  Love that part!!

What sport does your family enjoy?

I love soccer ! I like baseball too because Brandon and Dawson like to play.

  2. My son does TKD too!!! He is a 2nd degree yellow belt. As of Jan 29th he has been doing it for a year. He LOVES it. He actually got into it w/ his daddy. My husband did it when he was a child and their instructor actually trained w/ his former master, and therefore allowed him back into it at the level he quit over 25 years ago. So I have a “big” 2nd degree blue belt and a “little” 2nd degree yellow :) We love it. I tell everyone I can what a great activity it is!!
