Not that I had a choice, but I can honestly say I was born at the right time. Just as I was starting my life out of the nest direct selling was becoming more popular. I was thankful to have had the opportunity to host Home Interior, Pampered Chef, and Longaberger parties at the time. All three of these companies offered products to help my house become a home.
The best part of direct selling in my opinion is the personal touch it gives to the customers and the opportunity to gather with friends and shop together in one place. I loved supporting the Independent Consultants of each company instead of a big department store.
My love and addiction to the Longaberger baskets, the need to continue to use my skills, and stay in touch with other women is what led be to become a Longaberger Home Consultant. In the 7 years I’ve been selling I can honestly say the extra income isn’t the biggest gain I’ve received. The relationships is what has made this opportunity well worth it and so much more.
I would suggest to any stay-at=home Mom to stay plugged into the working world somehow whether it be a direct sale company such as the ones I mention or others that are out there, working part-time, or whatever fits your lifestyle.
