My Accountability Partner

There is something to be said about working with others and the accountability that comes along with it.  However if your self employeed or reaching a goal on your own sometimes there’s a struggle to stay motivated and that’s where an Accountability Partner comes into play.

I recently attended a conference in which Debba Haupert, from Girlfriendology, was speaking.  She was sharing her tips on being successful in the blogging world and mentioned having an “accountability partner.”  She shared with us that her partner is Phil Hollows from FeedBlitz.  They chat on a regular basis, bounce ideas off of one another, and set goals and keep each other accountable.  What an ingenious idea!

amyandISo my conference buddy, Amy, whom I’ve attended social media conferences with since 2009, looked at each other and agreed we should do the same.  Unfortunately we weren’t able to get in a routine right away since our schedules are hectic, but after the first and second chats we realized the value and now it’s a priority.

So Amy and I have now had two chats, and during those chats we talk about our goals, share things we’ve learned, and have our eyes set on a conference we’re going to attended together in 2013.  What a blessing our accountability partnership is, and I can’t wait to see her at the next conference.

Good idea. I have no accountability partner yet but I plan to approach one of my trusted friends, and if she agrees, we can work out a plan to stay in touch and monitor each other’s progress. Nice tip, thanks!
